Week 24

July 21, 2014

Anyway yeah I had some interesting experiences for the week they're not very spiritual but they are a little bit funny so.... well one of them is btu anyway so last tuesday I was in the tianguis which is basically a small swap meet but yeah I was in the tianguis and well we were looking for cleaning supplies when a young man about our age statstalking to me and my companion and well at first he was asking questions that were normal such as what church are you from and where do you meet and things like that but one moment it sort of changed he started asking me if we could come visit or if I had any time free and well in the long conversation he bassically asked me out on a date and me companion thankfully helped decline the invitation but he then persisted saying well how about after the mission? And well I explaied to him the I was going home in August and my companion finished by saying in the next year. To say in the least he looked dejected but yeah life goes on for the güera.

But yeah that was one experience and the other happened on sunday... well yesterday we have had a hard time in my area lately and well a lot of it is that no one wants to go to church and well yesterday we had two less actives and one new investigator in the church and one of the less actives brought the new investigati}or it was awesome!! This was something that I had been praying for, for a very long time and well after my trial of faith and patience the blessing finally came. I really can testify that prayer is one of the most powerful opportunities that we have in oue

Wow Mel is going to live with you guys! that cool. show her lots of love and show her how to trust in the lord. I have another scripture I dont know if you guys will like it but I absoulutely love it. Its in deuteronomy 3:22. Or does it have to be from the Book Of Mormom? Anway I got to go but Yeah have a great week and things will always work out. Tell micah happy birthday for me!!! Im super excited for him to be going to in YMs its going to be super sweet!!

Week 23

July 14, 2014

Aw camping.... well the thing is, is that I forgot about the fourth in all honestly sooooo yeah I guess that just means I been woking hard and Im fully immersed which is super good!! No worries!!

Anyway I have a super sweet story to share for this week that we really do meet the people that are ready to listen and learn. Okay so it thursday and we were contacting because we were waiting for a member to help us with our appointments and well we had contacted for about 30 min and I was so ready to but sit down because I have this problem with my foot where if Im standing for a long time my arch starts to hurt and well I just was not in the mood to contact it was 8 o clock and I was ready for the last appointment in the day. Well the member calls and says the hell be there in 5 minutes and that were going to meet outside a private housing area. So after my comp had gotten off the phone we were talking a little bit and two women pass us and well my comp didnt seem to want to contact them but all of sudden she turns around and stats to talk with them I joined her and they we talking about how were missionaries and that we give service and for what ever they need we can help and well these women were really surprised that anyone would do something like this but we kept talking a little bit and we stated talking about the church and well one of the women says you guys study the bible no and well we said yes and that we also have another book and she starts testifying of the book and that we had a prophet named joseph smaith and such and such well it just so happened that iu had a book of mormon in my bag and this is wqeird because we never have an extra. I  pulled it out of my bag and gave it to the women and well they said that they were going to take a combe which is a van with a bunch of people but they had decided not to and to walk instead and well of course we gave them our number and well that was the experience of the week other than that we had a pretty tough week but yeah sorry for the novel but yeah that was my experience!

I dont have very much time toda because we got to the computers late but Ill try to be on time next week! Bye
Love y'all

Week 21

June 30, 2014

Okay really quick! Aw camping! I keep forgetting its summer for you guys! Here all it does is rain all day! Its CRAZY!!!

As for the work everything is going okay! Theres a lot of people who dont want to listen to be honest most of them say IM CATHOLIC! or completely ignore us its actually a little funny sometimes. We have some new investigators who seem really interested. One in specific is a family of five and well Ive only met the mom who is in her late 20s and her two adorable daughters she has a baby but he/she is in the hospital and yeah their adorable reminds me of our family for some reason but yeah its super fun with them and also we have an artist who believwes in many gods and its a little tough with her but were going strong with her one hing that Ived learned is that we need to be direct and not ashamed of who we are as member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.

One thing that happened this week is that we got cought in the rian and well when we went to our next appointment we were visiting our investigator who has 80 years in her life right now and well she was quite disturbed to see us all wet like drowned rats as she had said haha. Well my skirt had become extemely wet and she could not handle me sitting on her couch so all of suddemn she runs uo stairs and comes back down with a skirt that was toooooo big and was about 40 years old and says change. so I went home with a new skirt that I gave back very quickly haha. That was one experience of my week. Other than that we had a pretty normal week. Oh and Im talking more so theres a good thing from this week too I can now somewhat understand evwerything thing and somewhat speak things are coming along. Well hope all goes well with your 40 hours of work and I hope that your summer is sunny!!!!!

Love y'all!!!

Week 19 (Day 129)

6/17/14

Hey so I didnt get to write yesterday because yesterday was beyond crazy! We basically had a normal pday to start but then I get this call from my zone leader and he says "you that you have a doctors at ppointment at 5 right?" "I said you joking me right?" I freaked out a little bit and we went an hour to linda vista and didnt get back until 8 it was quite the day and so I didnt get the chance to write anyone but yeah. Im fine and we had a good day despite the craziness.

Wow a lot happened this last week! Which temple did brytin go to? Super cool thiat she got some of the names done! Baptisms and confirmations for the dead are sooooooo important and its a blessing for us that were doing this now.

As for work Im guessing things are starting to become a little more nomal which is good and I keep forgetting that its summer I still feel like everyone is in school haha.

Aw I want some pictures of the wedding! Im sure christine and alyssa both looked fantastic! They always do so no importa! Ha one thing that Ive gained here is weight I am officially 7 pounds heavier...... yeah and with how short I am you can tell haha but hey its my testimony haha.  Yeah well im happy to here that everything is going well for you guys and well I only have 13 months left Im dying at how fast its been.

But yeah tell jace and dad feliz cumpleaños for me!

PS I thought about erin this week. Haha just out of the blue if you see her  again tell her to write me!!

Week 16 & Week 17

5/28/14

Okay so this week SO MUCH HAPPENED! I dont even know where to start just so much going on and yeah there were a lot of tears this week good and bad!
Okay
Monday: Monday was a normal p day we played futbol and did our normal thing not much happens on p days well other than talking to everyone I know haha.
Tuesday: We had a great day! We ha a zone meeting in the morning and we were actually on time to this one. After the zone meeting we went to the tianguis to contact and buy fruit because its cheaper and such and we were doing some contacting but not much. We had to eat out that day we ate at this little cocinita it was pretty decent the tacos were good. After though we contacted 35 people an all time high for our companionship! Lets just say I went back to la casa ready for bed and very satisfied.
Wednesday: Was normal from what I can remember. I dont remember a whole lot from wednesday but I know that we did a lot haha.
Thursday: Everything went down hill FAST..... We had an investigator who was ready to be baptized and went in for the entrevista and the person who did the entrevista said that our investigator wouldnt be able to be baptized. Our investigator was heart broken and angry. We had anothe cita so we went there and returned to the house of that investigator and he told us tht he didnt want to be baptized anymore because they told dhim that he would have to wait two weeks. My comp was tryin so hard with him and then we left again for another cita. That was Thursday so many tears.
Friday: We had entrevistas con presidente. Mine went well and like every Hermana thatshas an entrevista con presidente we all come out crying. Its the best. My comp went in and told presidente the situation with our investigator and the next thing I know is that I was called in the room and presidente dijo your going to have a baptism tomorrow because based on the testimony of my companion ella sabe que su investigadore esta listo para el bautismo. I couldnt believe it! That day was better.
Saturday: Was so hectic! We were preparing for not just one baptism but 3! We had un Niño in the ward that turn 8 and was ready for baptism, our investigator and and investigator from the elders. It was so crazy! Haha okay so these 3 baptisms all have something funny about them haha. First to go was the Niña from the elders. she wsa baptized by her older brother. Haha the first time the prayer and almst everything went great except she didnt go under the water all the way do they had to restart, well the brother didnt know he had to say the blessing again so he just dunked his sister again really quickly that time he didnt say the prayer so he had to do it one more time and the last time everything was perfect it was just super fast haha. The second baptism was the 8 yr old, he had memorized the entire prayer and his dad was baptizing him well his dad forgot the first part of the prayer and his son, the 8yr old says Dad! no you forgot such and such! It was a little bit funny. The last the Bishop did haha when he got in the water el dijo "oi que rico" which means how nice or oh how good directly translated haha and our investigator gets in and says the same thing haha oh just to tell you now you investigator is 82 yrs old and has put on quite a few pounds. And so the bishop says the prayer and put our inves. in the water and when he tried to get back up he could barely lift him out haha aftert he comes out the water they close the like doors to the room and the bishop says I just want to go for a quick swim and lays back in the water really quickly well our investigator does the same they both just sat there playing in the water for a ouple minutes having a good time. oh it was awesome!  My comp and I had to give a short lesson after the baptisms and we were infront of the font when all of a sudden we hear a loud slam, thud, SPLASH!..... Oh! EL NIÑO SE CAO!!! from our investigator! we open the doors to the font a little bit and our investigator in in his boxers and he pulling a little kid out of the water. Hahaha I was a little worried at first but after we all just laughed. it was the funniest baptiams but they were all super good too!
Sunday: We went to church and taught a few menos activos. it was a very peaceful sunday.
well that was my week! It was a roller coaster but it was good! Oh! On the 5 I will have officially 3 months in my mission. Time is soooooo fast!
Love you all!

-Hermana waterlyn

6/2/14

Wow your week sounds just as hard as mine was. Its fantastic though that you found you genealogy!! Because yeah We're doing the same thing here and I needed all thouse names so yeah Thanks for doing the work! Brytin needs to take alyssa with her! you can always be doing missionary work as a member! We recieve so many blessigs from it. I also really miss going to the temple yesterday we wnt to the visiters center and it was super cool! Nothing has given me more peace and comfort in my life than the temple I can't wait to go either here or at home again. Also please dont die..... The msisioary transfers are next week... I dont want my trainer to leave because I need to learn more. She also keeps saying that Im going to trin this next transfer I dont believe it but I dont know Im a little afraid to know. But if I am Ill just have a lot of opportunities to learn for myself...... I hope y'all have a great week!

Love ya!!

Heres some pictures from this last week!

Week 15

5/21/14

Well yeah I was super excited to see everyone and I gotta be honest the mission is pretty exciting! There's always something new and fun to learn about here and Ive been in Mexico for two months in an area that is tiny. So Im excited for the all the new things that I get to do and get to see.
It always seems like you guys have so much to do during the week! Its crazy!

Well all in all your weeks sound stressful but thats a good thing. I glad that sarahs baby is doing well! Aw I forgot bralyn is getting married soon! Wow its seems like not too long ago they were in maui but thats pretty cool!!! Yeah I think Ill have a better hang of the whole skype thing in December. Yeah no Justin is the See's oldest son and yeah its crazy how time is! I mena hey in December Ill have 10 months in the mission so its not for too long. Only 7 months more and itll be December and the december after that Ill be home so no worries.

The Book of Mormon is the proof of our religion. In Isaiah 29 it talks about another testament and that its sealed until a certain time. In the BIBLE it talks about the book that we have right now. I think thats proof enough and also the miracles that come from just reading it are amazing.

I read a little bit of that talk and I remeber it from conference. I have ots of notes on that talk because it applies so well to missionary work and when you feel discouraged to try to meet your goals for the week and how we only have a year and a half to two years to do the work of God, so right now we need to work and keep working until we are asked to stop. We can't stop not in this mission because we have so little time.

Yeah I dont get a whole lot of time to write but I do write every now and again I think ll start writing in the mornings from now on. Health wise everything is great! And happy.. Im a missionary. Im sorry that Cadens sick though thats gotta be rough. Hope all goes well this week!
Love ya!

-Hermana waterlyn

Love ya all!

Hahaha yeah somehtings in Mexico are extremely less formal.. But Im getting used to it. And its a little bit of fun.
Haha yes Im eating well. All kinds of food, such as tacos and quesadillas and mole good glory I love mole poblano its looks like chocolate syrup and tastes fantastic!! All I drink is water from a bottle haha.

That sounds cool. Micah got hurt.... Im sorry... but the golf cart is pretty cool haha. Sunday around 5pm here but I think in Utah its around 4. Also you need a account for skype! I just found this out so I hope it all works. So Sunday at 4!

4/21/14 Week 11

4/21/14

Aw enserio!! Thats not cool! thats sweet the you got a new computer though. I cant think of anything that I need really ya no se. I totally forgot about Easter..... although the atonement has been on my mind a lot lately.. I've studied a lot about it! and Its so important because its the center of the gospel and we need to use it everyday to find strength and forgivness. Oh since conference I would encourage everyone tio have they're own preach my gospel. The lessons are so basic but you can find so many wonderful new concepts in them. Also chapter 6 is probably the best thing I have ever read and studied.
Well now you just have more room for new pictures in the future haha. Sorry that happened though. This week was NOT busy at all! because there a catholic holiday and since everyone is catholic here they take like two weeks off of school and work to just go on vacation. It's aweful...... No me gusta.... oh tambien I had divisions this last week too and there was no one home even the members were gone so we didnt get a whole lot done this week. Oh!!! We have a baptism this week!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! Haha I dont know if I told you last week but all of our investigators are really old I mean like 80yrs old old. Haha its the best because I dont have to teach the awkward lesson of the law of chastity haha. Not that the law of chastity isnt good but its just awkward to teach. haha Well to end on a less weird noteI hope all is going well the end of the school year is coming up soon! thats gonna be fun for summer be there. Love ya all

-Hermana waterlyn

Week 10 (no letter week 9)

4/14/14

Well if you write me each week I'll respond hahahaha. Sorry theres not much you should worry about except the fact that I'm Mexico....... hahahaha estoy cheestos. This week was really quick!
Monday I went to the Doctor because aparently I et so nervous that i shake really badly.. The medicine he gave me is basically B vitamins so I'm not too worried about the effects and it helps me sleep better so thats a plus. Other than that we didnt do much on monday.

Tuesday: We had zone meetings in the morning and I contacted in the tiangise I dont know how to spell that. but the tiangese are like swap meets but bigger and more awesome and everything is cheap in Mexico its like going to a savers with food and its portable. I love them..... Although dont eat the food in them.

Wednesday:  I went got my  visa! I am now allowed in Mexico! Haha we had to go to another Mission to get them and I got to ride the metro that was super sweet gross and dirty but super sweet! we also went to an art museum after the visas and they have paintings frpm van gogh and all these other famous painters I was in heaven.

Thursday: we have a mission conference with the entire mission one stake center. we had wake up at 4:30 to make it on time! I was so tired! But it was totally worth it the conference was amazing! I also got to see my first companion!!!! Shes doing awesome and I was so happy to hear that!

Friday: Was a nomal day! Finally! Not much happened but we taught all of our progressing investigators hahaha all of them are 60 yrs old and oler hahahaha old people are the best!!!

Saturday: was a normal day too! We visited everyone and talked for ever haha it was a good day we got a lot done. oh! and I've been teaching English! I dont know how but I am! The classes are fun!

Sunday: we visit all of our less actives and just try to helo them want to come back to church and thir relly fun to talk to because you can be a little more strict with them. hahaha no they're all awesome!

 and yeah thats my week!
I'm glad that you all got to have fun! Hope all is well!

I love you!

Week 8 Letter

3/31/14

Hola mi familia!

Wow theres so many things changing at home! I'm sorry to hear that things have gotten rough! I had kind of the same week. I had to get through some hard things. I'm definitely better now! kind of..... today I'm going to the hopital to get some tests done because my mission president saw that my hands shake so he just wants it to be checked out so today I'll find out whats going on I think its just stress but it better to make sure. Other than that this week has been awesome! I love the ward I am in! The members are so caring and helpful to us. I love them so much!

I'm sad to hear about the Mckays.. Just love them as much as possible and try your best to love them regardless of what they say or do. I will fast for them and pray for them to feel Heavenly Father in their lives.

The mission president just changed last July. His name is Brad Hall and they're from Idaho Falls area. So its possible. I dont know. The president and his wife the kindest most caring people I have ever met and they're always so happy to see us.

Well I'm sorry that my letters have been short but we dont have a whole lot of time and the key boards are slightly different so its a little difficult to type. anyway all is well with me and my adventures as a missionary. Thank you for all that you do and keep strong!

Oh one more thing my favorite scriptures are either Moroni 6:4 or 10:32 or in Alma 26:12 is really good too! There is so much to learn from the book of mormon and everytime I read I find something that I can use to help others come to Christ. It's truly amazing.

I Love you all so much and hope and pray for the best. :)

Week 7

Mexico is sooooo amazing! Really dirty but amazing! There's so many people and they're all amazing and so kind. This last week I got to meet the entire ward and I had to sing solo in front of them! It was really scary! We have a lot of work to do and its awesome! I am so thankful for the hard work I have to do I know it blesses you and those who need it most. I am so excited to work hard!

The food here is AMAZING! I got to eat pig skin and pig gums......... that was interesting but it was good!  It really is I won't want to leave! We've gotten so much done this last week and I am so grateful it! I got to see a baptism my companion had one this last Saturday and The Hermana was just glowing and I got to bare my testimony in Spanish that was scary and cool at the same time.

What else....... hmm Oh everyone greets eachother with a kiss on the cheek and as misioneras only women can greet us that way. we just shake hands if not. I'm adjusting to it little by little and I'm enjoying every minute.
I love you all and hope you have an awesome week!

-Hermana waterlyn

Ps I'm going to be teaching English every Saturday! I need some Ideas from calyn!

Monday, March 10, 2014

Week 5 Letter

That chapter is seriously the best! I learned a lot in Spanish this week, I came back to the apartment and pretty much had headaches from how much studying we've been doing and it's awesome!

I will use my card this week. We all got this BYU card that automatically gets money put on it so I really don't have to pay for much but I will buy something.

Brytin was going to quit hm. Well tell her good luck and just be patient. I've had to learn A LOT of that since I've been here so it's good pratice.

Tell Calyn Feliz cumple anos! Y tener muchisimo divertido.

Week 3

...This week has been great! The language is coming a long and I can now have a very good spanglish conversation! it's really fun to be here! I'm loving the MTC. Things are going well between everyone here so thats a super big blessing to have. This week not a whole lot happened.... well a lot happened actually. On Sunday elder Holland Jr. gave a talk and Elder Holland Sr. attended so it was way cool to see an apostle. Elder Hollands talk was amazing! Oh! I'm also in the choir so I sang praise to man at the talk which way cool. Umm Monday we taught and investigator and that went really well so I'm excited to know more spanish and be able to speak better. Tuesday we had a devotional and it was really good I dont remember who talked but it was on PMG Chap 6 which is Christ-like attributes so it was an awesome talk. I have lots of good notes. Thursday I went to vegas and got my visa. I also got the chance to talk to a man on the plane about everything so it was a really cool experience. Other thant That everything has been quite normal MTC stuff. Anyway I hope that your week will go well!

 I love you guys!

2nd Week Letter

Hola mi familia!
Yo tengo learned so much this week especially! I did get to meet Sis. Naef before I left and we got to talk a little bit. So yeah this week was crazy we taught our investigator two more lessons and after the last lesson he agreed to be baptized. 'Course this was a teacher being the investigator but I was excited none the less. I have realized a little bit more on how spiritually taxing and exhausting things can be here and so far my companion has been my biggest blessing because she has had a lot of the same experiences as I've had so having her here is awesome!

This next week we'll be teaching two new investigators which is really freaking me out but it'll be good for me. The spanish is coming along kind of......... but yeah I know that its better than it was before the mission so yeah! yeah time is definitely how President Palmer described it. the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days so it's really great to see the progression of those around me. We're getting new missionaries this week and as sister trainer leader I get to help them through the ropes! I'm really excited about that. :) It'll go by fast and you won't be ready for me to come home haha. Well I hope all goes well this week and that everything is staying a float haha! Thanks for the prayers and I'm praying for you too!

Love you Guys!
